José Miguel Algorta is a Uruguayan lawyer specializing in corporate law, investments, family enterprises and international commercial arbitration. He has developed significant international experience working for clients from all over the world.
A graduate of the University of the Republic in Montevideo, Uruguay, he is a doctor in law and social sciences (2004), (equivalent “Juris Doctor” (JD), has an LLM in Corporate Law and International Commercial Arbitration at Hamline University School of Law ( 2005) and Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) of the IAE Business School of Austral University (2015), as well as numerous postgraduate courses at the University of Montevideo, Faculty of Law.
He is partner of the “ESTUDIO ALGORTA & Asociados” since 2010, where he is head of the Department of International Studies, in the field of company law, private clients and arbitrations.
José Miguel is also an active member of the Chamber of Commerce of Uruguay-Spain and Uruguay-Brazil as well as being a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA – International Association of Young Lawyers), where he was appointed national representative for Uruguay .
He is fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Italian.
