Ville is Head of ESG & Sustainability at Magnusson Finland and leads the ESG and Sustainability team. Together with his team, he provides legal and strategic support to our clients on a wide range of ESG issues while ensuring the development and implementation of Magnusson’s own ESG practices.

During his two terms (2022-2023) as Chairman of Magnusson International, he has witnessed the rise of ESG issues both in client engagements and in the work of international law firms.

Ville has attended and spoken at several international seminars, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders with ESG issues at the core of their business, particularly in relation to regulation and business impact assessment in sustainability matters.

Ville and Magnusson’s ESG and Sustainability team have a comprehensive understanding of corporate sustainability, compliance, risk management and business alignment with ESG regulation, among others, considering various stakeholders.

He has extensive experience in handling complex cross-border commercial and transactional matters, with a particular focus on the mining, real estate, and technology sectors.

Over the years, Ville has held numerous board positions in various industries, from local to international corporations and innovative start-ups. He is also well known for his recognized work in multi-jurisdictional legal matters relating to risk management and strategy work. Ville also advises clients on employment and sports law matters.

Ville holds an LL.M. degree from the University of Helsinki and is admitted in Finland as an Attorney-at-law. He also holds a certificate from the Harvard Law School: Executive Education, Leadership in Law Firms. Ville speaks fluent Finnish and English.
