Kazuma Higuchi is a founder and managing partner of Higuchi & Partners, LPC, a law firm based in central Tokyo. It was established in 2011to advise on general corporate and business matters. As an independent boutique firm, it can provide services in more flexible and affordable manner than large firms, based on clients’ individual needs.

He obtained B.A. in Law at Keio University, M.A. in Language and Sociology at School of Hitotsubashi University, and L.L.M. at the University of Michigan Law School. He passed Japanese Bar Exam in 2000 and was also admitted to New York State Bar in 2008. Before establishing his firm, he cultivated his practical experience at Ohara Law Office in Tokyo and Masuda Funai Eifert and Mitchell in Chicago.

His practice areas are M&A, joint venture, distribution, licensing, franchising, and other commercial transactions, general corporate matters, compliance, employment, debt collection, litigation and dispute resolution.

He is a member of Japan Federation of Bar Associations, Tokyo Bar Association (TBA), International Trade Section of TBA, American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, International Bar Association (IBA), International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), and LAWASIA. He was serving as a chair of the International Committee of TBA since 2023, a Vice-chair of Regional Development Subcommittee of International Sales Committee of IBA since 2012, and a National Representative of Japan of AIJA since 2016.

He often appears as panelist at major international conferences. The Japanese media frequently approaches him for comments on legal matters. Kazuma speaks Japanese and English.
