Daniela is an Attorney-at-Law (German bar) and Certified Specialist Employment Lawyer based in Frankfurt, Germany.

She advises and represents German and international companies of all industries and sizes as well as senior executives. Daniela is very experienced in handling international projects. The focus of her current work are restructuring projects and ensuing employment litigation, negotiations with works councils and employee data privacy matters. She also advises in employee data privacy matters.

Prior to starting her career as an attorney, Daniela gained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree at the University of Christchurch, New Zealand, and worked as an immigration advisor in Christchurch. From 2009 until 2020, she worked in the employment law team of Greenfort in Frankfurt, from 2017 as an Associated Partner. In 2020, Daniela founded her own law firm, Hangarter | Legal.

In 2021, Daniela was recognized as “Lawyer of the Year” for Employment Law by Handelsblatt, an award given to only eight individuals in Germany. Her firm Hangarter | Legal has also repeatedly been recommended by Wirtschaftswoche and Leaders League.

Daniela is a lecturer for employment law at a private university and the author of various publications on employment law. She is also a co-initiator of #stayonboard, an initiative which successfully advocated a change of statutory law allowing board members and managing directors to take a break from their office in case of pregnancy, parenthood, illness or care for relatives.

She is a member of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA) and the current Regional Representative for the Rhein/Main region of the International Young Lawyers Association (AIJA).
