Christophe Héry mainly deals with international transactions and cross-border litigation involving distribution, competition, IP and IT related legal issues. He specializes in industrial and commercial contracts (joint-venture, manufacturing, agency, distribution, licensing, franchise…) with a focus on new technologies (e-commerce, personal data, IoT). He also has 25 years’ experience as an international arbitration lawyer.
He advises both international groups and family business on their investments, transactions, and disputes in France. He has gained a solid expertise in the life sciences (medical devices, cosmetics), retail (luxury goods, FMCG, fashion), agribusiness, and IT industries.
Christophe holds a master’s degree in business law and international law from Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) University. He began his legal career as in-house counsel in Alcatel group before joining the Paris bar and working for several law firms where he focused on the protection and exploitation of intangible business assets. He was a partner with Lmt Avocats until 2018 and he is one of the founding partners of Altaïr Avocats, a business law firm based in Paris and Bordeaux, specialized in Corporate, M&A, Private Equity, Competition, Distribution and Business litigation.
Christophe Héry has been Vice-Chair of the International Contracts Committee of the American Bar Association – Section of International Law (ABA-SIL). He is a member of the International Distribution Institute (IDI) and an honorary member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA). He is a regular speaker at national and international conferences. For more than 10 years he lectured in international business and trade law at the Paris law school. He has a specialist certificate in international law from the Paris Bar association.
