Sonia Garcia Navasquillo is Spanish Lawyer (admitted to the Spanish Bar Association – Valencia) and legal counsel specialized in negotiations, contracts, corporate governance and management of disputes at international level. She has large experience in international projects mainly in the energy sector. Educated in fields related to International Business Law (LL.M), compliance, dispute resolution and international contracting.
Sonia García, founding partner at Garcia Legal, has been advising in corporate issues and foreign investment projects, joint ventures, management of export operations and creation of distribution channels such as agencies, franchises and other representatives. She worked as in-house lawyer for several multinationals and as professional support lawyer for international law firms, like The Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, where she has been involved in due diligence processes, international commercial arbitration/ADR and litigation. She advises in complex international contracts situations and she is regularly involved in e-discovery in large legal cases regarding corruption and financial crimes.
She has also been a guest lecturer at Leiden Law School (International Contract Law) and at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (‘Practical Aspects of Due Diligence in Contract Negotiations’) 2019-2020 within the frame of the Comenius Project sponsored by the ministry of Education of The Netherlands.
Sonia earned her LL.M in International Business Law at the Erasmus University (Rotterdam). She has obtained her diploma from the International Chamber of Commerce on Advanced ICC PIDA (arbitration) and a diploma in International Relations/International Negotiation at Clingendael Institute in The Hague and in Supply Chain Management (RSM, Rotterdam). She is author of several publications about cultural differences and the impact on the business and she participated as panel member in various seminars about doing business in Latin America.
She is fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, Dutch and French.
