Monia Baccarelli is an experienced industrial property lawyer with a particular focus on the enforcement of industrial property rights in Italy and abroad.

Graduated in Rome, at La Sapienza University, with top marks, she has been a member of the Milan Bar since 2004 and is an associate in the law firm Macchi di Cellere Gangemi, where she is head of the IP Department.

She is member of national and international associations, including AIPLA (American Intellectual Property Law Association), where she is an active member of the Emerging technologies, IP practice in Europe and Women in IP committees, and UNION-IP (Union of European Practitioners in Industrial Property), for which she is the deputy delegate for Italy and Chairman of the IP litigation commission.

She is also a member of the Civil Justice Observatory of the Court of Milan.

She is author of several publications and frequent speaker at seminars and conferences concerning Industrial Property rights.

She is consultant to various industrial associations and trade fair organisations.

She is legal advisor to Italian and foreign companies including large multinationals. She has experience in domestic litigation and also in pan-European and cross-border litigation. Her enforcement, licensing and counselling practice covers the whole IP world including patents, trademarks, design, know-how, internet, copyright and new technologies (AI, Robotics, IoT). She also has experience in know-how and trade secrets strategy.
