Declan Black is Managing Partner of Mason Hayes & Curran. His personal practice encompasses both commercial litigation and insolvency with a focus on the financial services sector and his experience includes many high value contractual and tortious disputes, commonly with an international component.
Declan has frequently represented stakeholders in Irish and international insolvencies, particularly examinership and has acted for the victims of fraud in complex recovery actions. He regularly represents parties in securities’ litigation and is experienced in handling shareholder and boardroom disputes. He has acted both for and against industry regulators and in a wide range of other business disputes.
Declan joined Mason Hayes & Curran as a trainee in 1990 and, prior to taking up the role of Managing Partner, he led Mason Hayes & Curran’s litigation practice.
He holds a Law Degree from University College Dublin and is a member of the International Bar Association.
