David Diris concentrates on litigation as well as advisory work in cross-border distribution law (franchise, distributorships and agency agreements) and complex international litigation with a strong focus on proceedings under various EU-Regulations (Brussels I, Rome I and II, etc.) and other international conventions (CISG, New York Arbitration, CMR). David also advises and assists our international and non-European clients in doing business under Belgian law.
As well as obtaining his law degree at the University of Antwerp, David has obtained an additional Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy (cum magna laude).
David is President of the AIJA Distribution Law Commission, co-founder and Member of the Board of DAV-Belgium and a regular speaker on topics of international commercial law. He has given lectures in Dutch, German and English on doing business in Belgium for lawyers as well as for business people.
David manages a blog dealing with issues of litigation and ADR, but also giving his own opinion and analysis of all aspects of the legal profession and hot legal items.
